TROJANS ON TOP! Coed Competitive Cheer Wins 6th State Title

The McDowell coed competitive spirit team put together an impressive finals performance to capture the coed state title at this past weekend's 2026 PIAA Competitive Spirit State Championship in Johnstown, Pa.

After qualifying for the finals right away after their Friday performance in the preliminary round, the Trojans scored a whopping 88 points in Saturday's final to win the program's sixth state championship in 10 seasons.

McDowell's six titles in the coed division are the most in state history, and the six overall titles also rank second in terms of total cheer crowns across all divisions. Cumberland Valley and Bishop McCort have seven titles.
